251 mt whitney_thumbnail.jpgWe get many requests for new Mountain Badges. We love making these. We have developed a good technique when illustrating mountains in thread, and it's easier to do when the peak is really recognizable, like it is with Mt Whitney. A fan contacted us last year to say while he loved the badges, Mt Whitney was a glaring omission. How would we know if you don't tell us? Request fulfilled. When you throw us your requests, it really does drive what we do. We can't make everything, but we take fan comments and try to distill what you want.

Our fans in Colorado have many peaks they want made as well, and we are currently looking into doing another range of 14ers. Which ones should we do?

There are three peaks in Southern California that come to mind as commonly summitted; San Gorgonio, 11,503 ft, San Jacinto, 10,833 ft, and San Antonio, more commonly known as Mt. Baldy, 10,069 ft. There are also a number of 14,000+ peaks in California, but other than Mt Whitney, which you have, and White Mountain, 14,252, I don't know which are more commonly summitted to make a patch a worthwhile item for you.

You don't know how timely your comment is, John! The three peaks you have listed have gone live on the website yesterday, and we even added Cucamonga Peak, too! Thanks for the comment!
